The theme of connecting the ambient genre's musical past with the present is the root of M. Cross Dougherty's new EP, "Interpretation." Each of the four encompassing compositions on the album is recorded to tape on a vintage four-track Tascam Portastudio and features shifting pitches, warbles, flutters, and a unique sense of warmth and graininess akin to the medium.
