"Cascades" was a project initiated by Cass Anawaty following a relocation to Central Oregon after he spent eight years in the Sonoran High Desert. The backdrop of the idyllic town of Sisters, Oregon, framed by the 3 Sisters Mountains (Faith, Hope, and Charity) and Broken Top, served as inspiration. The interplay of sun and shadows on these mountains throughout the day provided compelling visual textures that motivated Cass to connect musical interpretations with the natural landscape. Each mountain is symbolically represented in the EP, with flutist Sherry Finzer's contributions playing an integral role in the project's completion.
