Christoph Pagel from Berlin, Germany is known for a special, sensual style as a composer of contemporary piano. Christoph started to play melodies heard at church when he was 6 years old. Composition and improvisation became part of his life shortly after he began lessons at 10. At 13 he finally had a mentor for this, his teacher Franz Riemer, who was an educated composer.
Another great influence was for Pagel was Fritz Weise, the leader of the Berlin Concert Choir (Berliner Konzert Chor), whom he took vocal lessons from.
Being a well-trained tenor, Pagel was asked to play Judas in the semi-professional musical Jesus Christ Superstar when he was 17, and even thought about studying musical at the University of Arts Berlin, but the wish to be an influence in society was stronger, so he studied law and became a professional part-time musician. During his studies at law school, Christoph continued to compose and published two musicals.
In 2001, the time seemed right to Pagel to become a full time musician, at first with the focus on rap, concerts, and CDs as singer/songwriter with the mission of bringing godly standards to people, later with the focus on piano and studio work. Over the years he has taught more than 100 students, including children and professional business leaders.
Christoph can be found regularly performing in renowned hotels and bars such as the Waldorf Astoria, InterConti, and the Brel in Berlin. At the Hotel de Rome he played as an opener for Katie Melua. Music from his CD Piano Dreams Vol. 1 was played regularly at Klassik Radio in Germany. His music videos on Youtube have received more than 1 million views. Recently in 2016, Pagel was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by Enlightened Piano Radio (EPR). He is also part of Whisperings Piano Radio, and his music can be found at Napster, Amazon and iTunes.
